Design of a health tech platform for effective management of NHS GP’s and service centres.
Working closely with the head of product I took the initial low-fi wireframes and user flows and began building these out into full design pages to sense check where any of the information architecture and UX needed revisiting.
As is often the case in these situations much of the pages layout and functionality needed to be reconsidered to work more harmoniously and holistically across a range of different product features and pages.

A key functionality of the platform was the Appointments Book, used by administrative or management staff to have a comprehensive overview of the practice’s current and upcoming bookings, with primary view filtering sorted by either the rota’d clinicians or by the type of service.
All booking management functionality and dialogues would be triggered contextually on the page, depending on what filter view was set and where the user triggered from.

To allow admins intuitive flexibility, appointments can be booked simply by hovering or clicking over a blue availability indicator that designates that there’s a clinician with availability to be booked within a given timeframe.
The admin can select the clinician they wish to book the appointment with by name and then proceed to go to patient info lookup and entry. Because the appointment has been selected for a specific clinician from a particular service queue, and within a pre-defined time slot, a lot of the drop-down selected info will already be pre-populated to expedite the process.

If a clinician needs to be assigned to another service this is done very quickly via the quick button at the top of each service queue.
Only available clinicians will be selectable from the dropdown list and only for time periods between other pre-assigned services.

Deleting a booked appointment is as simple as hovering, clicking and confirming the reason for deletion.
At this point it is then possible to either book a new appointment into the now vacant slot, or drag to move other pre-booked appointments into the slot.

After walk-in patients have been through triage they can be dragged into vacant slots in other appointment queues. A lot of the information on the dialogue will be pre-filled as they will have already gone through patient verification via the EMIS lookup system.

If there’s a gap in a clinician's workload the admin can easily assign them to an additional service by simply opening the clinician's current assignment label and scrolling through their daily rota chart, and clicking on a vacant slot to create a new assignment starting point. from here the service and duration is selected and the clinician will be informed of the changes.
